Behind Dione Ceramics is Ayça, a ceramic artist based in Amsterdam. Her interest in ceramics began at a young age and led her to study ceramics and sculpture at university. Over the past 12 years, she has continued to refine her craft, creating handmade stoneware and porcelain pieces that combine everyday function with sculptural character. Every piece is thoughtfully made to be used, loved, and enjoyed for years.
Each piece begins with stoneware or porcelain and is shaped by hand or on the pottery wheel. After trimming, drying, glazing, and two firings, it gradually takes its final form. Clay holds small surprises with every touch and every firing. I see these changes as one of the most beautiful parts of the making process, allowing each piece to develop its own unique character while creating ceramics that are made to be enjoyed and used for years to come.
